Make sure the head is slightly above the feet in terms of height for the crib. One inch above works.
Dont use cribs or blankets where somehow it can choke or be strangled by its own actions.
Dont make the baby sleep on the same bed as the mother during the first three months. Place a crib in the same bedroom right next to the bed.
Breastfeed. No vaccines. If you cant avoid it due to family pressure, one dose of deadly diseases (no need for flu shots) only, space 3-4 months between each shot. Dont vaccinate the baby at all during the first year. Second year, pick two diseases and have it take the shots. Its not a solution, because best scenario is a middle finger to vaccinea, but it gives you leeway in the family.
Use a bassinet in the same room, elevated on the side of the head from underneath.
That works.
Why elevate the head of the bassinet? My little one is 23 days old today. And he is always turning side to side (can't flip over from belly yet). Won't he just wiggle his way down to the bottom of the bassinet if he's sleeping on an incline?
If he pukes or has any sort of reflux on his digestive system, he wont drown and the liquid can safely go down.
