The fertility rate has decline significantly on a global scale. My question is, why is there an overpopulation concern if less babies are being born yearly? It is projected that the world will hit 9.8 billion by 2050 but HOW? Am I retarded or does this not make sense to anyone else either?

Fertility rate is down in developed nations, and pretty high in undeveloped ones. Most of Africa is in the top spots on the list. https://www.cia.gov/the-world-factbook/field/total-fertility-rate/country-comparison
