Well they didnt give raises last year bc of covid. Fine whatever. Found out a guy at my work started at the beginning of the pandemic started out 5k more than me and got a full 3% raise. Me? 2.5% and still make way less. I have more experience than this guy and i was only in the position a year prior. I do way more and also put in way more hours. We have the same degree from the same school, same job title and around the same age. Same schooling with more experience and involved in way more making less than this guy. Im livid. Before i found out hownuch he made i asked for 10% and was told thats not possible but if i got what i asked for, id still be making 950 less than this guy after his 3% raise. Ive had no complaints and rarely any mistakes. I got shafted royally. Any suggestions?

Find another employer, get the job and start day. Leave that job the day before. Drop notice in the morning, have your things packed. What? No notice? Did they treat you fairly? No. Why give them the courtesy thay won't extend to you?

I so want to do this but dont want to burn bridges.

They keep you scared with bridges. Keep building new ones, strong ones.

My hobby is watching my bridges burn.(as some are 100% worth burning). Think they care about your bridge? Nope.

Be strong brother. You are a sovereign and independent stud, not a weak pushover.

Wow. A new approach to things. I like it. True words of inspiration. Thank you so much.

You burn a bridge so the enemies do not follow you. Its a military tactic.

but dont want to burn bridges

Will you need a reference from your employer in the future?

Do you work in a small field where word gets around?

You don't owe the company anything at all, so make the decision based on what will be best for you.

You have no bridges there. They screwed you once, they will keep doing it. Give them one chance to make it right after you have another job offer.

Bridges are for people who like to take two steps forward and one backwards.

Which bridges? IF you ever want to go back? Then why leave? Move onward and upward.
