If done properly in a non-jewed world, I could see it working. The drugs/cybernetics sports scene would get a lot of interest/money. And from that, like how race cars do it, you would see better drugs/cybernetics as each brand pushes to be on the face/ass of the winners of a spectacular win that no mere human could perform. And the regular sports league would have strict controls over who gets what drugs. If you get too fucked up that you need them medically, sorry charlie no more regular sports league for you, try out in the other one. And if the drug/cyber league folks burn out faster, who cares? They chose that life, let them live it.
