Say I'm shilling for exxon mobil, should I be buying my petrol at an Exxon or Mobil gas station? And what if I want to buy some snake oil additives, like upper cylinder lubricant, Mobil doesn't make one, so I have to buy Lucas making me feel guilty. Maybe I don't need to buy any cause this stuff already gots it? Anyway I'm sure the gasoline comes from the same pump, delivered with the same truck network, so maybe it doesn't matter? Oh well, my car engine ain't explode so I guess I'll keep using it.

Anyway, back to the original question, Exxon or Mobil? Or just whichever one is closest?

Whichever is closest. Gas is gas unless you are trying get your car to vroom perfectly at 87.36 mph

Data logs show the least knock when I use the same gas station, also avoid gas stations when the truck is there pumping gas. All the water in the tank will slosh about, wait a few hours for it to separate, and best to get gasoline at night.

youre either using the wrong octane or your car is shit.

most cars with electronic timing adjust themselves to stop the knocking unless youve got a sensor our or something really wrong. either way if it was the petrol the entire suburb would be up in arms not just one customer.

Most cars don't have the compression ratio bumped up by 2 points. Maybe your understanding is shit.
