What's your health status like? Do you take any meds reguarly?

Plenty of people use it as an alternative to modern day pharmaceuticals. Do you think people who go that route are "stoners"? I bet more people you know consume cannabis than you realize, because I see all walks of lives use it in a therapeutic manner.

Sure, plenty of people can abuse it, but there are plenty of people who truly benefit and become more productive due to its medicinal effects.

It's a tool, and like any other tool it matters how you use it.

It's excessive weed and lack of sleeping that is the problem. I see when driving mornings and it's always a black pickup but not the same one.

I look in the rear view in the morning and a truck in a 55 mph road is coming up doing at least 70. I think they should have stopped drinking and hit the sack earlier and put on my turn signal hit the breakdown and wave them by me though they'll hit that person doing 5 under the speed limit in like a mile so I know I did my part to not make them late and make their stress hit the going postal levels.

Working for someone else is a disgusting thing to do. Maybe more people are realizing this and taking a responsibility for their prosperity and progress. Automation and innovative digital technology fixes a lot of lack of employment issues. We don't really need minimum wage jobs anymore (we never needed a minimum wage, frankly). Maybe everyone "getting lazy" and not working more and more is a good thing. If people have more leisure time, we have more time for innovation, emergence of genius and pursuit of arts, all of which further human progress.

Does anyone make minimum wage anymore? I live in a rural area with depressed wages and high school kids start off at $15 an hour in the trades. Store clerks might start off at a little less. Plenty of people earning $40-$60,000 a year in their early 20s with no high school diploma.More than the public school teachers make.

If your goal is to make sure they call you, before they don't come (because if they don't want to work, they don't want to work, let's not fool ourselves by pretending there's a reliable fix to that), you have to make it clear on day 1:

"If you decide to not come to work, for whatever reason, legit or otherwise... Just call me so I know you won't come and I can organize differently, leave me a message, sms, whatever you prefer, but do it, tell me "I won't come tomorrow", no question asked, just don't be an ass by not letting me know in advance, and if you don't know when you'll be able to come back, just warn me in advance every time you know you'll miss a day. Of course, the day you come back, you'll need to give me a valid justification for your absence; a doctor's note for instance, or any other valid administrative proof to justify your absence. If you don't, well... There will be consequences of course."

Something along those lines, implying that they can "not show up", it's ok, but what's not, is to let you down by not warning you.

Now of course they can cheat, come up with made up stuffs, but that's beside the point, they can do it anyways, where there's a will there's a way. But at least you can ensure you don't end up caught off guard for your work's daily schedule. And when they come back, either with a valid or not so valid excuse... It's not a drama, no big deal... As long as they've warned you in advance as we all agreed on day1... Because if they did not, that's when you put them in the hot seat, that's not okay like not at all, no more mister nice guy you've been warned, it's betrayal, breach of trust, and that's a big deal "because you're supposed to be a grown man"

I've noticed delivery services have gotten a lot worse the past few years. USPS says my address is undeliverable all the time because I'm in an apartment complex. They don't give me a slip but I go it the PO anyway and ask for my package. They won't give it to me because no slip and mail it back. UPS delivers a day or three late saying they tried each day - I have a camera and there are no slips. FedEx will also lie the same way UPS does. When I comain to any of the companies I get responses of 'it was just delayed' or 'the driver says they tried' or in the USPS's case 'we don't have to deliver' which just makes absolutely no sense to me.

I've been working since I was 14. Whether I hated my job or my boss I still did my job. At my current job I've even noticed that accountability is going out the window. There are two people on my team who probably work less than an hour a day. Our manager doesn't care, his manager doesn't care, the director says he's not heard of any issues. I just don't get it. Those of us who have to make up for the slack get shit - I had a review and was told to quit being such an overachiever. I've applied for and gotten a new job but HR has been dragging their feet for 3 months and haven't sent me the offer letter. I am losing my mind with the lazy incompetence I'm dealing with.

People are tired. Not very many people were working while the fearful took a government paid vacation. Those workers bore the weight of the whole economy for a year, and they did so while being suffocated by masks. Even people care about their jobs are too tired to be perfect at them at this point.
