It turned to shit before that. They cultivated a culture of "Look at this pic of my grandma with cancer" getting 6 million up votes and thousands of comments of how stunning and brave you are while "Here's the robot I built out of an old radio" gets 2 votes and one comment of "neat." It was social signaling central before most of us knew what social signaling was.
Once this NPCs culture was in place it wasn't long before the SJWs, commie-wannabes and shills were able to take over with zero push back and drive out anyone with a single functioning brain cell. Then they sold their major subs to democrats and corporations to shill their shit.
Actually, there's a system set up where if you get heavily down-voted in a new sub, you basically become non-functional in that sub. You can post a comment once every 10 minutes, and that's if you didn't get banned by an effeminate or feminazi moderator. This prevents people from having an actual discussion with anybody that disagrees with them. Sections are only filled with people who agree.
As an avid shitposter on there you only get the 10 minutes ban if your total karma is in the negatives. It's mostly just a 6 minute block on a specific subredddit if you're talking into the negative karma and if you just sprinkle out you're talking throughout the website it normally lets you rapid fire off a good 5 or 6 comments before it defaults to the 6 minute blocks globally. This is normally reset after at least a day.
Usually on the more trafficed subs you just get outright banned before 5 minutes so they must have rotating mods on them working full time.
