Well the aliens were not what made the ship they were cargo? A bio weapon kinda made sense
But absolutely everything you said makes sense. The movie was shit.

Those aliens can take out tanks somehow? Skin made of what? What organic material can stop a desert eagle .50 cal from 30 feet away.
