Where? What cop agrees to be tased? It's to stop a criminal and if they're a cop in training they have no criminal record.
You can find tons of videos of this.
The idea is to give the trainee an idea of what they can expect from deploying their taser successfully. They are tased under controlled conditions, standing on a mat, often held by both arms so they can be lowered to the floor easily while they're getting zapped.
It's kind of similar to how they gas all US Marine recruits (pretty sure they do it for all of the other branches, as well) in boot camp: demonstrates the effectiveness of your gas gear, shows you what it's like when it malfunctions, and then you get to do some push-ups or list off general orders while under the effects of tear gas. Fun times, all around....
In training in EVERY police academy cadets are required to get tazed and have OC-spray (worse than tear gas) sprayed into their eyes. My brother is a ZOGbot, he hates it, I still shame him.
