I live in a pretty decent neighborhood and don’t want any trouble with the neighbors, but the problem is the next door neighbors have a completely fenced off yard yet they leave the gate open at night and their dog is allowed to roam free. It usually sneaks and takes a shit in the yard which I have dealt with all year, however now it has gone too far and shit right on top of some garlic that is almost ready for harvest. I work 3rd shift so I can stalk the yard and catch the bastard in the act if I need to. What would you guys recommend?

I don't expect you to be scared of me, I am just pointing out you shouldn't think killing a dog is okay and you damn sure shouldn't suggest others do it. There are people, myself included, that value their dog well above your sorry excuse for a life. If you shoot someones dog, you may get shot in return.

Killing a dog that is actively damaging property, particularly livestock or gardens, will always be ok. How is that difficult to understand? Nobody is talking about blasting Fido while he's minding his own business. Threatening to shoot people who cull your pet that you refuse to control is a quick way to demonstrate that you've swallowed the animal rights activist faggotry hook line and sinker. Your dog will always be worth less than a human.

My dogs life will always be worth more than your life to me. I don't care if you live or die but my dog is family.

I'm sure then that since you value its life so highly you keep it from damaging others' property so you don't place it in harms way.
