I made several dozen for family and friends. Most have not been needed. One friend may need proof of vax to continue in person at college classes. He is applying for religious medical exemption. The vax card is back up plan. One friend has a child that needed to show proof of negative covid test or vax card for travel. Didn't want child taking the test, so vax card sufficed. Several other friends have medical and public service jobs where employer indicated vax proof was mandatory or get fired. Has not come to it yet, but they wanted back up just in case. Me, I've shown my vax card to one coworker knowing he'd tell additional coworkers. My employer demanded masks regardless of vax status, I had been reported/snitched previoulsy for not wearing a mask.
