Control of the Mediterranean was vital. Control of the suez was vital. Without staging points in North Africa for the allied forces and with Control of the sea points from Gibraltar to the red sea the axis powers would have been able to hinder any southbound advance, as well as gain Iraq and the oilfields in the middle east as well as stop any Indian staging advancing.

Italy also were butthurt about the loss of Ethiopia and Germany had never been much of an expansionist during the age of empire. This would've solidified their Control over Europe, allowing them to focus on the Russian and British fronts more effectively, as well as provide vital resources for the axis war machine.

It was a pretty good strategy and vital to the long term success of the goal of a united axis controlled Europe. It just didn't work. Italians are terrible fighters.

Oil and Gold

Germany needed oil. In fact, it's one of the main reasons they lost the war. They had two possible sources of oil, North Africa / Middle East and Russian oil fields. Thanks to the mindless goyim in the US, they weren't able to secure the African oil fields and instead of taking Moscow had to divert to the Russian oil fields, which was inevitably their downfall in Russia.

If they had been able to free Russia from the jews, they would have had millions of Russians join their cause as many Russians despised the bolsheviks but were powerless against them. Kind of like today, we hate what the jews are doing to our country, but they control the minds of so many goyim that we are currently overwhelmed and outnumbered. Ask yourself, if a white army invaded the US today and started murdering all the peaceful protestors and totally legitimate government, would you fight against them or join them?

The need for resources required it. Germany found themselves heavily embargoed.

It was all about oil and diamonds. Diamonds are worthless rocks outside of industrial manufacturing. They had coal but no oil. Africa was about obtaining resources to which they didn't have within their own borders.

Britian and America embargoed Japan and their new navy of oil. They knew this would force Japan to declare war. The first thing America did was declare war against Japan and Germany.

I suspect that Hitler was controlled opposition (of some sort) and his purpose was to destroy/degrade Germany and also create the state of Israel by making Germany very hostile to Jews. Some of the things he did toward the end of the war just don't make sense if he cared about Germany.
