Im looking at a piece of code right now some indian fuck wrote. They parse a JSON object tree and recreate a secondary object out of it. Essentially they built a very crude, very brittle mapper. So my boss and i tried figuring out why when a 2 liners works jsut as well. And we honestly dont get it. Like fucking why?

I asked the one to do a basic task. He told me it would take 2 weeks. The task at hand? Add a new configuration value in some database. We're not talking some super complex task here, jsut a simply insert statement, literally ONE FUCKING LINE of work that would take me 20 seconds. But apparently its gonna take him weeks, like fucking seriously?!

Truth is the tech industry is improvising to resolve issues as they arise by Googling what to do.

The resumes are fake. They are contracted by middle-man organizations, paid a lowly wage, and the organization charges the company nearly $100 per hour.

The only people who succeed in the industry are autists and dick-sucks. Outside of that demographic, the only other people you find in such a soul-crushing career is the soul-crushed bitter IT guy who wishes he were anywhere else doing anything. The stereotype is very real.

It's a cultural issue. Most Western cultures value honesty. If you ask me to modify code written in assembly, I'm going to tell you I havent touch assembly in +10 years and no longer have the capability to write it.

Indian culture values "honoring" people by saying yes to every request. Even if they have no capability to fulfill that request well if at all. Ergo, you see a lot of shitty outsourced code because Indian culture values your feels over telling you the truth if they cant do it.

The thing is the shit they write is REALLY fucking hard to read. Its not like, small typo, its like my first thought is "was this guy smoking crack" when he wrote this?

The worst thing: When you train one of them to do anything, and then ask them "do you understand that?" they ALWAYS say "yes"... even when they don't understand anything at all.

I lol at companies outsourcing to them.
