That would be ironic if the pool itself was still intact. But it wouldn't rule out anything. The pool wasn't at the bottom of the structure. If you know how a bullet goes through a body with a small entry hole, doing consistently more damage as it travels, that's how the water would travel. It would spread on the way down.
