Honestly, a trained well placed strike will do more for creating distance than pepper spray. A truly determined attacked will just get pissed off from pepper spray, and now the victim is cross contaminated because the attacker has closed the distance. There are tons of videos on YouTube of people fighting really well after being sprayed.
A taser might be a better option, but good ol lead is gonna be best.
Tasers i hear can be unreliable and both prongs need to connect to work.
A gun really is the only equalizer for women in my opinion. We have to get that demographic more pro gun rights.

A taser that shoots will incapacitate a single male reliably.
I asked the question to see if anyone else can provide a decent alternative for self defense for a small woman against an average male.

If the male is wearing a thick coat, i don’t think rhe taser will work.
