I recently went to a restaurant and looked at my bill; I'm being told that I must subsidize the wages of the kitchen staff with a 3% tax on the total bill. Then the restaurant charges a meals tax on top of this kitchen tip which is probably not authorized under state law. Interestingly enough, the kitchen staff gets 3% for things they didn't do like pour beverages.

To me, this is nothing but virtue signaling. This pisses me off. They could simply raise the menu prices 3% and then pay their staff more.

In war you use the weapons available to you. If you don't, you will loose to those who will.

Besides, cheaters always cheat. Don't pretend they only cheat ethically.
