I am writing a paper for school to determine what really causes a place to go bad. Most states have what is considered "bad cities," "dangerous cities," "bad neighborhoods" or whatever you want to call it.

It is common for Republicans to call these cities "Democrat run" cities or cities with "liberal policies". There is a lot of truth to this, yet this does not explain the existence of peaceful places like Vermont or Sweden that are as peaceful as can be.

Many liberals blame "poverty" or "inequality of wealth" as the cause of crime. Yes, there is there is a lot of poverty in Baltimore, but there also is poverty in many neighborhoods in Manila I walked through at night with zero concern.

Many blame drugs entering communities. Certainly drugs are found in any bad neighborhood, but I've grown up around lot of drug users around my small town. I've never felt afraid to be around this city at any time.

Many people blame "fatherless" as the cause of making cities dangerous places. Again, about half the kids in my school lived with single moms, yet their existence in the community did not make it automatically lose value or become more dangerous. Yeah, some of these kids got in trouble more, but, if your car got stuck in snow at night time most would pull over to help you out.

I'm starting to believe there is no common denominator that causes you to fill with fear when you pull into a gas station late at night in some neighborhoods and not in others. Perhaps it's all random? Your thoughts?

I suggest you "act dumb" just start off your paper with the following sentence: "Bad neighborhoods has long been a euphemism for minority dominated areas. Not all minorities, but only blacks and to a lesser extent hispanic dominated areas are considered bad."

Then go into talking about why people use euphemisms instead of speaking honestly because sometimes it's the polite thing to do, others do it because they are cowards. Talk about how some have taken it to the point of pretending it really is about poverty/fatherlessness and not crime/race to avoid dealing with the reality of the situation.

Your tone should be mildly condescending and insulting towards the people who overuse euphemisms. If you're in any way attacked for writing your honest paper you should be incredulous, saying emphatically that everyone knows what is really meant. No one is so stupid they actually believe it's poverty or oppression, they just know there are no easy solutions to the fact that low IQ sub-races can't successfully integrate with modern society. Continue to play dumb and accuse them of lying and knowing the truth just like everyone else.
