Emotions are good, sentimentality pretending to be emotions are not good. Emotion is created by the body via hormones, which can linger for hours. Sentimentality are fake emotions induced by ideas. A movie can make you feel sad etc but you snap out of it quickly, as soon as the delivery guy rings the door. You can create feelings by dwelling on thoughts and ideas, that's sentimentality, and it's as fake as the ideas in your head. You can feel things observing reality, those are real emotions, and the thoughs and feelings that come from that are also real. Searching and depending on that next great idea to worship caused the dot com bubble to pop, and it's causing the failures of big tech. Their ideology is bunk, originating as a thought, from a moron with money. That's why it always backfires, and never suceeds.
