That's part of a disinformation campaign to conflate jewishness with Israelites. Same reason the black Israelites nonsense is pushed.

Jews are not the biblical Israelites. The Ashkenazi are not even jews.

The Irish, English, saxons, aryans, scythians, Scandinavians, and so on are the Israelites.

Came here to say it's to distract from israelite heritage but looks like that's been covered. I will add that people like to say the Irish couldn't have ever been a desert people because their fair skin burns too easily. However there is plenty of evidence of people in those regions using red powder as sunscreen. The powder is iron oxide which is still used in sunscreen today.
