Find a spot where your cat loves to lay, naturally. Place a heating pad underneath a blanket. Don't put it on too hot, medium is fine. Turn it on and let the cat enjoy the warmth peacefully, by themselves. Go over and pet briefly when the timer on the heating pad needs to be reset. Reach your fingers out, slowly, and give the cat time to sniff you before petting.
