The same reason every "affordable housing" project ever isn't built in the hood, but in white neighborhoods. It's blockbusting. They're converting voting precincts systematically. Instead of gerrymandering the lines, they gerrymander the population.
That's exactly what Obama did.
The Bidet Administration... I see what you did there. I like that.
toilet Bidets actually do something, and do it well. this is slander!
A hotel isn't a "detention center" unless they're doing a proper cell conversion and putting twenty men per room, and I have doubt about both of those things...
Obviously you don't understand the word detention.
If you are a citizen of the US, this is excusable due to how the word is typically used against citizens.
Sure, the term is usually used for prisons I guess. I think I used the term because the AZ attorney general used it.
“Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich sent a letter to the hotel, asking it not to act as what he calls a “detention center.” He says a detention center poses a risk to public safety because the hotel is right next to apartments and a high school.”
They put them in the two most white, affluent neighborhoods in the Phoenix metro area.
Probably less well thought out than that, I expect there arent any hotels in beaner neighborhoods. Maybe a few pay by the hour places.
You’re probably not wrong on this. I searched for a few minutes and the ones that are currently for sale are in nice areas.
Why doesn't that first link go to anything?
I had to drop my brave shields to load the azfamily new site.
Here’s an alternative news link to a similar coverage of the Scottsdale protest.
Possibly because rich white liberals always vote for shit they don't want in their own back yard.
Sounds like a Trump move tbh.
No one is voting on the location of immigrant detention centers. The government just does what it wants.
Yes, as the articles I posted. I’m pretty sure they mentioned your point. The Scottsdale location gave something like two days notice with no public comment/ feedback. I believe the city council said it was completely out of their hands. I doubt the city council has zero options as they claim, though. Scottsdale’s mayor is “non-partisan” and their last mayor was R. The city council claims “non partisan”. I am not sure if they’re avoiding identifying as republicans or if they are actually non partisan. I do know PHX candidates don’t claim a party on their candidacy advertisements “, because they’re ALL democrat.
