I've been thinking lately about how the modern trend of having semi-permanent girlfriends is at odds with most of history. The real problem in the USA is the whole legal and social system to support marriage has been broken down and been replaced with multiple systems designed to destroy a woman's interest in maintaining a marriage.
So in that environment if you want kids maybe simply hire a surrogate. It's really gotten that bad. Women simply go to sperm banks.
