I would have framed it! Last time I went to Clearwater was to apply for my CCW permit. About 4 years ago. I live in Seminole and never get up that way. The traffic going to the beach was terrible in the late 70's. I cant imagine how it is now.
I've given up on that beach entirely, unless someone is visiting. The best swimming holes are the ones the tourists stay away from. I like Gandy for driving on the beach. It's hard to imagine you used to do that on Clearwater, too, and the hotels were only a few stories.
I remember when Gulf Blvd was 2 lanes half covered with sand in Madeira Beach and the tallest structure was 2 stories. You could actually see the gulf between buildings.
That warms my cold, cracker heart. I hope you bought real estate! My neck of the woods was all orange groves. The Old timers here say the citrus blights weren't natural. The county people wanted those groves gone so they could raise property taxes.
