I grew up in Alaska. If you are moving there to avoid black people you will be disappointed. The 2 largest cities have military bases which contribute to the problem. Another issue is the economy but if you are skilled and willing to do physical labor you wont have issue. The thing I miss most is actually the climate, the winters are long but so quiet and nice. Not much of anything else either.

No daytime in the winter. No nighttime in the summer. Only spring and fall are normal: kind of annoying. Coastal area of the panhandle is interesting, also the mountainous areas. It's so vast you can'r really generalize about it.

Things to avoid: common law marriage, 2A infringement, vaccine/mask cucking, egregious policing, lots of hot springs, mormons, southern border (with few exceptions), high property taxes, lots of Gates farmland, college towns and places named after spooky things, people or places (you'll know what I mean when you spend a little more time looking).

Alaska doesn't sound that interesting to me, personally. Sunlight is extremely important.

Also, this isn't just advice for considering moving to Alaska.

I lived there for nine years... Anchorage is a cesspool. Vagrants panhandling at every exit and living in tents on the medians and greenways. No sidewalks or storm drains in neighborhoods. Niggers, Samoans, and Russian Jews everywhere. Don't do it.

only if you have a good job lined up. They don't like outsiders there, and getting work can be a bitch.

Had a buddy who tried to make a shot of it, he had lived there as a kid, but going back after so many years made life too hard to make it. I think he lasted almost 3 years, and he had help from a friend already established there.
