I've also noticed that they do not capitalize the "w" in "White" when referring to people, yet in the very same article they'll still capitalize the "b" in "black" when referring to them. The second I notice, I stop reading the article.

thats actually correct. either capitalize all (to show that it is an abbreviation - RADAR, NASA, or initialism) or capitalize none to show it as a label like black or white. if you capitalize Black or White it indicates that is where they are from or their ideology, like Black Supremacists
