I’ve got mixed feelings on this. A strong military is important, and committing your life to serving your county is an honorable goal. The isssue is this: what countries actually care about protecting/serving its people anymore?

They’re important and should be observed.
The idea is good, but there’s nothing to be proud about anymore.
It’s an outdated idea. All we ever fight for is Israel’s interests.
I don’t care, I just enjoy the day off.

I like the principle. And I always felt different about the poor bastards who lost their lives after being drafted and forced into it. Maybe it's just because I was old enough to be aware of all the bullshit following 9/11 and the "war on terror" but I don't have a lot of respect or sympathy for modern veterans.

Maybe even the older generations didn't have an excuse but in the information age, if you still choose to go fight in the sandbox for the jew I don't feel inclined to honor your memory.

I have two cousins who enlisted and deployed in Iraq. Both had their dicks blown off by IEDs. One committed suicide after abusing his wife and kids when he got home. Neither of them enlisted for any measure of altruism or desire to defend their nation. They were low IQ burnouts in high-school and believed they had no other viable career options. They were looking at the benefits package on the other side, true mercenaries. And they are not isolated examples. What's to memorialize there?

The U.S army has been serving Jewish interests for decades.
