I remember seeing recently a couple of posts asking about what to do about cavities, if there were any alternatives to going to the dentist. Apparently there are. Someone named Weston Price developed a diet that he claims can remineralize teeth, curing cavities.

I haven't tried it yet but will in the future. Here are some links:

Prevent cavities by rinsing with with hydrogen peroxide before you brush. It kills the bacteria that cause decay. It will hurt like hell if you have infections in your mouth, but keep using it daily. It won't hurt at all when your mouth is heathy. I've been using it for over 30 years. Hadn't been to a dentist in maybe 25 years until a few months ago when I went to get a broken tooth repaired. They asked how long since I had been to a dentist, and I saw their rolling eyes when I told them. During the exam I scored very well on the periodontal charting. Afterwards she said a cleaning was 'optional'. I shared my peroxide regimen, and she said, "Don't tell anyone, it will put us out of business."
