Get a snes emmulator like zsnes and download some roms like Secret of Mana, Illusion of Time, Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest or (I have not played these two) Chronotrigger or Earthbound.
Works better if you have a USB controller as well.
Chrono Trigger and Earthbound were two of my favorites. Definitely worth a play if you haven't tried them.
I'd add Super Mario RPG and FF III to this list also.
How maby chrobo triggers are there?
There are seben Chrobo Tribbers.
Final Fantasy IV and VI, but not Mystic Quest. Star Ocean and Tales of Phantasia as well.
Just don't use ZSNES; it's super ancient and was never very accurate. Out of the classic emulators, SNES9x was and is the best. Some of the new "core" emulators are supposedly good.
If possible, flash cart/copier on OG hardware or an FPGA clone such as MiSter or Analogue SuperNT. These are all rather expensive, but worth it.
I quite liked Mystic Quest though it was probably quite small and simple. But I may be looking back on it with rose tinted glasses as well.
It's a good beginner RPG, if bare boned. Great battle track though.
