So my brother and I got to talking, he wholy believes women get paid 70% of what men get paid. I tried prodding him in the right direction by stating if this is done every eyar, vs once a year, and if the jobs are the same or if they compare industry only. Any other rebuttals i can use, or is he a lost hope? I feel any information i give him that goes against the women oppressed narrative will just be completely ignored

The statistic is for the female population as a whole compared to the male population as a whole. If women were actually paid 70% less than men for the same jobs, then it would be crazy to hire any men! Women tend to prefer quality of life over maximizing earnings, so they will go for jobs that are lower paying, or part time. Even so, never-married women make more as a whole than their male counterparts. The highest risk jobs with the highest mortality rates and high pay are almost exclusively male. Women work fewer hours and take more holidays and sick leave.
