So my brother and I got to talking, he wholy believes women get paid 70% of what men get paid. I tried prodding him in the right direction by stating if this is done every eyar, vs once a year, and if the jobs are the same or if they compare industry only. Any other rebuttals i can use, or is he a lost hope? I feel any information i give him that goes against the women oppressed narrative will just be completely ignored

The statistic is for the female population as a whole compared to the male population as a whole. If women were actually paid 70% less than men for the same jobs, then it would be crazy to hire any men! Women tend to prefer quality of life over maximizing earnings, so they will go for jobs that are lower paying, or part time. Even so, never-married women make more as a whole than their male counterparts. The highest risk jobs with the highest mortality rates and high pay are almost exclusively male. Women work fewer hours and take more holidays and sick leave.

It is an EARNINGS gap, not a "pay" gap. Women earn 70% of what men do, because they choose lower-paying jobs, work fewer hours, and take a bunch of years off for momming.

Why do women choose to pay themselves less than men?

If you have him doing the research himself, he'll be biased in favor of his own findings. Might be enough of a bias to disrupt his programming.

Also, don't deny that discrimination exists. Sure it does. Some people are assholes. But discriminating against women is illegal, whereas the mayor of Chicago does so openly. The real question is how much of this is really discrimination.

You're going about it all wrong. You think he can be swayed by facts and logic. Clearly that's not the case. He believes in the pay gap because he wants to, not because there is evidence for it.

Instead of feeding him facts, accuse him of being smart. He's smart enough to know that women get paid just the same as men. A job opening says $20/hr not $20 for men and $15 for women. So why is he lying? What does he hope do gain? Usually they're trying to sound smart or they're high status parroting the popular opinion that high status people spew. So tell him that his lies are transparent. You know he's lying, and he knows he's lying. No one thinks he's smart, just a lying faggot. He's not popular for repeating what the fake news told him, he's proving he's a brainwashed clown.

Insult him and tell him that beliveing what he's told to believe by corrupt politicians and megacorp PR departments makes him an idiot and a fool. Everyone is laughing at him and thinks he's a low status dipshit at best. However that's not enough, you have to tell him that people know this is also a mask. The gender pay gap is one of the biggest bullshit stories in the history of modern feminism.

From a 2020 interview with author Collin Farrell:

“The pay gap is not about men versus women, it’s about dads versus moms,” the author explained. “When you compare never-married women who have never had children to never-married men who have never had children, the never-married women earn 17 percent more than the never-married men do. When men know they’re not going to have children, they put effort into things that are more fulfilling, and in general, the more fulfilling an occupation is, the less it pays.”

Also, from the 2019 Harvard study titled " Why Do Women Earn Less Than Men? Evidence from Bus and Train Operators":

Women value time and flexibility more than men.” Men worked 83% more overtime hours than women. They accepted twice as many last minute overtime shifts. And they worked more higher-paying nights, weekends, and holidays. Women took twice as much unpaid family leave. The authors note, “Since the operators at the MBTA are selected for their ability to work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, it is likely that our estimate of the role of choice in the nationwide gender earnings gap is a lower bound.”

It’s horse shit. Ask him who primarily runs the HR departments of companies. Women. So women are paying other women 70% less? Simply bullshit. Also it’s illegal to do so via equal pay rights act of 1969. So if such a problem actually exists. It’s illegal already. Personal experience. I know. 3 positions of a job, they hired new group and one female I dated of that group, found out her starting pay was more than mine even when I was experienced 3y at the job and knew 3 different positions. When I confronted the female manager, she said she would fix it and gave me 15 cent more than the girl got. Which was a large raise from where I was. Ask your female colleagues how much they make. You’d probably be surprised to know the narrative is horse shit. Not to mention there’s no lines of females waiting to be garbage collectors or brick layers. They only want to cushy jobs and power positions. Even with no merit to do them. That whole narrative is fake and gay. Only to trick women into thinking they are oppressed.

Well its a complete lie. This bogus statistic comes from comparing the entirity of each gender's taxable wages regardless of employment, so females living off a man's paycheck are counted in the statistics. It also cou ts a part time minimum wage female against an 80 hour a week skilled specialist man.

Fun "facts" he found include

  • not understanding variance. This fuck is an engineer and couldnt understand how a 1-2% gap would fall under a standard error. Like seriously, what the fuck did he learn in his schooling if he missed out on basic logical premises.

  • praising openly communist repressive regimes as more free and open than western ones, in this case the "data" shows China, Korea and most Asian countries have pay parity. These countries also eat cats/dogs, and consider human rights to be a pesky annoyance, so i dont know if you want to use them as an example of "freedom".

  • thinking private companies are more corrupt than government. I tried explaining that both entities could be lying to your face and you wouldnt know, so why trust that the government is somehow better?

  • Assumption that the data has NOT been tampered with, which in this day and age is about the worst assumption you can make

  • Assumption that validating female oppression will get him laid. Saddly i highly doubt it would, and no one wants to date a self debasing asshole like this anyways.
