water is critical, can be used to make steam/purify/used for charcoal making (to create feed stock for biochar for soil amending which, if you are in the south of the world or in an area with high sand content soil, will vastly improve outputs)
Biochar = needing large amounts of carbon ie: dead wood, if you have property with deadfall harvest it for charcoal stock, make a small batch (not hard info online many places) to test it out see how you like it
If you have any buildings on your property that do not have the "tar shingles" for a roof but instead have some sort of aluminum sheeting for roofing material that is the best material to harvest rainwater off of, the amount of aluminum particulate in the rainwater is even less then what the "township" allows in water in most places, that and a berky filter or other activated charcoal filter will give you a larger "constant supply" of water you can pull from, either for potable purposes, hydrating livestock, or watering crops (nothing needs to be done to it to use as crop water or animal water other then not letting it sit too long and going stagnent)
Edit: also, portable sawmills are decently priced, a "basic" setup from woodlandmills is about 3k, if you have a tractor for moving logs you can start with that and start milling lumber, while prices are high now it looks like they are starting to come down, i think the "hoarding" caught enough attention to scare sawmill owners, so if prices start coming back down you may get less profit from it, but being able to process lumber on your site opens up what you can do with a site...noticed you said you have no land but might look into that, look into "scrub" land, with nothing on it, that land is bottom dollar and hasn't been tended to in some time, so often there is lots of deadfall (can make woodchips for mulching your growing area or firewood for heating to offset heating costs instead of relying entirely on liquid fuels)
Other then that, I would say invest in improving your ability to be deadly in battle, if you are not the best shot but would like to be better look into some DIY attachments for weapons aka laser pointers as sight indicators, can be useful for targetting moving objects if your firearm skills are lacking.
