Sure, there is an afterlife. But it's not designed for our benefit. We are all extensions of universal consciousness. As such, we can't cease to be, because universal consciousness remembers every detail of our lives. But we won't think in the same way we think in these bodies of flesh after death, because the bodies of flesh will be gone. We won't have individual self-identity, because our discrete, separate existence will be over. Our sense of self will seem like a quaint, strange dream. Maybe it will continue in some form, but it will only be an echo of what we are during life.
