I think being an atheist a good step to take if you were religious before. I was religious first, became an atheist, then an agnostic, and eventually became spiritual. It's a long journey, but I wouldn't necessarily call having a certain belief to be wrong. It would be like telling a teenager it's wrong to be juvenile. A soul grows as time goes. You would rightfully be indignant if those atheists never explored other beliefs and never changed their minds.
