I’ve learned it’s best not to try. People like him tend to get caught up in their faith so hard that they assume everyone will understand them through “the Lord opening their eyes” or something. I’ve yet to have the “Lord” or any other God “open my eyes”.

I have a number of family members who are deeply religious. I enjoy a good conversation about faith. Cryptic statements don't help, though.
