Yes, because I am religious
Yes, because it makes sense
No, but I hope to be disproved
No, universe is cold and dark

It would be nice, but there's absolutely no reason whatsoever to think there is anything beyond what we experience here on earth.

Yes. Because I have seen it. I've been to the other side. There is no question.

I clicked "religious." But that is a loaded word which conjures up traditions and ceremonies.

I choose spiritual because we all are spirits. Whether we are enlightened enough to see what is right in front of our faces or not.

Faggot atheists are the absolutely most brain dead, asleep, hard headed, arrogant, ignorant motherfuckers I've ever experienced. I want to inject them all with DMT and see what those arrogant bastards say after that.

You wrote the truth. For that you get an up vote.

I think being an atheist a good step to take if you were religious before. I was religious first, became an atheist, then an agnostic, and eventually became spiritual. It's a long journey, but I wouldn't necessarily call having a certain belief to be wrong. It would be like telling a teenager it's wrong to be juvenile. A soul grows as time goes. You would rightfully be indignant if those atheists never explored other beliefs and never changed their minds.

Can you tell your story? I'm curious as to why. I have absolute proof I was reincarnated more than once, but I have no info on the spirit realm. I think reincarnation is a natural process and we dont have a choice.

Option three is the closest to my situation but I don't actively hope to be proven wrong. It would be something to deal with if it happens.

If you've ever witnessed the miracle of birth (not the conception) you'd be rock solid in your faith.

This is only our first step, this is our training ground. The Creator is very real.

I have, and I'm not.

If I told you I was a teacher in my church at 13, would that ring any bells?

Know the Creator is real. It is in your DNA, wake it up.

Love your neighbor while you figure out life ... by the end of this show, you'll be a big fan of the Creator's work.

Sorry, I wrote hope instead of wish.

Either way. I'm completely fine not knowing whether there is an afterlife.

You'll find out anyways and probably won't be too happy about it by then.

No, but I think it's imperative most people believe there is one.

Before my wife died I was pretty agnostic. On the fence on if there is an afterlife. I had a spiritual awakening after her death. Not sure if there is a true religion. I just know I'll see her again. And to paraphrase an old movie (relatively now). "Doesn't matter if it's true or not. You see, a man should believe in those things, because those are the things worth believing in."

Never doubt. I've had two major miracles happen in my own life. By miracles, I mean events outside the boundaries of the natural laws. It's not something I talk about in detail, because that would be pretty crass and ungrateful on my part, wouldn't it? They were private, between me and a higher being of infinite love. But trust me, never doubt.

The afterlife is unfalsifiable, either there is one or there isn't and it doesn't matter. And I believe it ties closely to how much someone believes there is more to our existence than we can sense.

With that said I've witnessed a true physics defying miracle save a baby boys life, to me that was proof of a higher power of some sort.

Yes, because God has told us there is an afterlife. Sheep and goats though. Some everlasting glory and some everlasting punishment.

God told us?

He never called or visited me.

Surely you aren't referring to something found in some book written by people you don't know and have never met. That is hardly God 'telling us anything. So, the Buddhist texts, the Hindi Texts or some Jew documents? Do we trust some books but not all books? I trust Moby Dick. Does That count as truth?

It's all about you, isn't it? Because, what else have you got?

May I please reply thus: We all have the here and now. You, me, all of us. As for any particular deities, that, like an afterlife, is belief. Not known, as knowledge requires physical proof and we both lack that.

Guessing that you might be a Christian, well good for you. No? Maybe a Hindu? Well still good for you. I am not against any religion, but I have four decades of seriously studying these matters and have been unable to come to a logical, certain conclusion. If you BELIEVE this or that based on a book written by a total stranger, or BELIEVE something based on lectures from a trusted religious leader, well again, good for you.

Were you born in Saudi Arabia or Nepal, you must know that you would be of a very different opinion regarding beliefs. Time and circumstance makes you how you are and largely who you are and the same is true for me.

So, now in response to your statement, no, it's not all about me. We are all products of our place and time and situation. You BELIEVE that you might be going to heaven? Were we alone in a room for half an hour I might explain to you that the Bible speaks deeply about a resurrections ON EARTH with both Yahweh and Yeshua sitting on thrones in the New Jerusalem. Not in heaven. But maybe your religious teacher never explained that to you, I dunno. I could. But that's not my job. I don't push any belief system and never have done so. You may ask and I can quote scripture to demonstrate this, but it's not anything I feel an urge to bug people about.

My additional response to your statement, "What else have you got?" is this: I have family and friends whom I adore and a good life being a good person, living happily in the mountains on five acres and growing organic crops. If your deity would kindly contact me and explain details about an afterlife, I'll wish to share the information with you. On the other hand, if you've been contacted in similar manner by a deity, let me know who and how and what he said. if it was a text, shoot it to me. I'll gladly give you my phone number and email account. Despite years of waiting, I have not been contacted on any of these matters. Very disappointing!

I trust Moby Dick

and I only trust muh dick.

God, I hope you do, otherwise, why even try?

[–] 1 pt

I try to make my own meaning.

Because those who come after you will remember what you've done with your time on Earth.

There's something. Death didn't make me more church going but it did make me more grateful for my life. To whom I don't know. Certainly to the man that performed CPR until I revived! 😆

After life comes death. Why should there be another 'life'? That is fake and gay.
