On every single catbox link it brings up the "unable to connect" page. Is there some sort of trick? Or is it just overloaded?

It appears that it is down for everyone and has been for at least 22 hours as of this post (second link says down for 1 day 8 hours). https://www.saashub.com/catbox-status https://www.isitdownrightnow.com/catbox.moe.html

The main site has been down for a handful of minutes or hours in the past, but the other day on the 7th it was down for quite a few hours and now this extended downtime. I haven't been able to find any information on the cause or if/when the main site will be back up.

As it has in the past when the main upload page is inaccessible, https://litterbox.catbox.moe still functions for uploading temporary images and files that will delete after a specified period of time. However, this separate service of theirs isn't helpful if you are trying to view images and files that are already in permanent upload.

Thanks for the post and the effort you put into it

You're welcome! In addition to those sites confirming it is down for everyone, I had also tried with TOR and connecting via multiple locations/IPs to see if it may have been an IP range or region-based blocking. Everything supports it actually being down worldwide and not accessible by anyone.

I'll keep checking periodically and post an update if I catch it come back up.

Hey, it is still showing as being down for me in my primary browser (Waterfox) as well as both of those sites saying it is still down for everyone.

However, it is not fully down for everyone as those sites show, but it is instead just a routing and accessibility issue that catbox is aware of and are working on fixing.

I finally managed to get the page to load in TOR browser after many different connection attempts and succeeded with a circuit routing through Germany, as well as the Netherlands, at least temporarily.

I was also finally able to get it to load in Brave private window with TOR after many different TOR connection attempts (I don't think Brave lets you see what your circuit is), at least temporarily loaded.

While the site would load for me, I went to their status page via the link on the bottom of the main page: https://status.catbox.moe/ https://status.catbox.moe/history https://status.catbox.moe/issue/b2307a97-1b83-48f4-98ae-d4b80b410683

Identified — We're aware of a routing issue currently impacting about 50% of connections to Catbox's primary deployment. We're working to get this resolved ASAP. Posted about 15 hours ago by cats

That status page is still accessible by all and shows that they are aware of the access issue problems: Here is a temporary 3 day litterbox image of the status screen as of right now if that status page does not load for you still: https://litter.catbox.moe/a5723z.jpg

(They really should put that link on all of their pages instead of only the main page. At least now I have that status page bookmarked for using in the future.)
