If you are trying to open his eyes gently, those are way too direct.

If you are bothering with that friend it's because he's not a total lunatics. Try to find which issues he's almost red-pilled and scratch from there. Where I live, the treatment of Palestinians is probably the best way to wiggle in for most lefties.
