That sucks.
Most of the cost of meds is because of collusion between big pharma, insurance companies and the gov. Once you get out of the US the cost of everything drops by like 70%. The problem with South America is beaner Drs who got their certs from a street vendor. I'd look into the Balics like some other guy said. The Drs will likely be as good as the ones in the US before diversity.
