I always wanted to hear the audio recording of that idiot and his idiot girlfriend getting mauled. The family told the attorney to seal it.

Timothy Treadwell was an affluent failure who couldn't do anything right in life, drank and lounged about on his parents' dime, then found his "calling" with bears and blew their money in that. He was probably schizophrenic as well, but no one talks a about that.

Treadwell was the stereotypical shiftless trust funder ski/surf bum type, for sure. Known a lot of these types over the years, mostly from working the resort boomtowns. Generally into several "Extreme" activities. Worthless as employees. I think they play just a brief bit from the tape in the Herzog doc.

I think they play just a brief bit from the tape in the Herzog doc.

I've been told its a recreation and the tape was never allowed to be used in the doc at all, and if it was it was only to let the people making the recreation here it so they could be somewhat accurate.

He could have done anything, but chose to be bear shit

I don't think that's it

Ya, you can cross that one off. This idiot just talked to angry bears as if they were petulant children. They left him alone for a long time, thinking he was to crazy, and you don't eat crazy. Finally one decided he didn't care and just ate him and the woman.

Up until that point he had been camping in bear country during summer, when they're all well fed and at their least aggressive.

This made him overly confident, so he decided to take his gf camping there during autumn when they start eating anything and everything to fatten up for winter and there's a lack of prey. Plenty of people told him it was insane, but he did it anyway.

I have seen what you are asking about back in the mid- late 80s, I think. It'll come to me..'twas a long time ago. Haha!

[–] 1 pt

I sure hope you can help, I been trying to come up with this for a long time

Was it a Cheech and Chong movie? It's from that point in time in my head. I'm thinking it was some movie along those lines and timeframe. I haven't forgotten you! I also need the answer now! LMAO!

[–] 1 pt

No, I am pretty sure it was not Cheech and Chong

It's officially driving me mad. Had to be a clip from a movie. It definitely wasn't television.

It was on television when I saw it. I remember watching it with my brother on tv one late saturday morning. I don't know if it was a made for TV movie or a theater movie that was being shown on television. I do know it was not a recurring show, it was a movie.

Can you tell us more about this movie, it looks interresting.

I don't really know much more. Some people, maybe a family, were out on a camping trip of some sort and at some point they had the campfire scene. I wish I could be more detailed but I dont really remember anything else from it. The bear scene was seared into my mind though

I really want to see that movie now. I saved this thread. If you remember anything, like the names of some of the actors or anything, please let us know.

I have no idea who the actors were. I was really hoping someone would have remembered seeing that scene with the bear

[–] 1 pt

I would also like to know. That sounds hilarious.

[–] 1 pt

It was hilarious. The bear then sat down at the campfire and drank up some of the potion the people were drinking. I remember seeing this some time in the 80's and have no idea what it was in or who was in it. I sure would like to see it again

Maaaaybe the peyote scene from a million ways to die in the west?

the very beginning of that scene is somewhat similar but this one i am talking about I saw in the 80s
