>Wish i could test stuff politicians fuck around (with) I think they said kids are not really likely to contract it. although they will still come up positive as a) coronavirus is the common cold and b) the way these pcr tests work, you could draw a line through coronavirus and write.... i dont know, something else normal that youve had in the past, chicken pox, and it will come up as.... positive for chicken pox. the maker of the pcr tests says straight up theyre not appropriate for this use. it doesnt rely on just identifying something in a sample, they identify something, then they have to amplify it i dont know how many times (apparently it has to be done dozens of times *more* than the recommended procedure, than you would use when its actually appropriate), at which point *anything you have ever* had in you, will show up, and that person can say 'yep you just tested postive for' but again... its not the active virus theyre testing, its antibodies which form *afterwards* which lets your body identify and fight off whatever it was next time. tl;dr is you could use the same pcr test to find chickenpox, and the way the test runs you will test positive for chickenpox because the antibodies are there, and the interpretation instructions are that you are now an active chicken pox case, despite having it when you were 5 years old.
