So they can discriminate against you. You can always decline to state. Then they'll definitely discriminate against you, but they also would if you are white.
Interesting experiment I tried when I was unemployed. Whenever the AA/Diversity questions came up, I only got call backs on those that I declined to answer. I never got a call to interview for application where I admitted I was White.
Of the interviews I went on, I wasnt interviewed by a single White person. The closest I got was a Fellow white man. I didnt get any of those jobs. This is the first time I have ever been called in to interview that I didnt get the job. In the past, If I interviewed, I always got tge job 100% of the time.
I have a job now, but even then, a Mexican friend got it for me and I am still making $10-15k less than I used to.
