yes, if simply the value of a coin chaged and stocks were based on that value their price would inflate but with extreme inflation the customers and suppliers are not trading their coin at the same value; the first thing to happen from extreme inflation would be supppliers raisingthe price beyond what customers can afford. then customers themselves will raise their expectations of payment but by that time the suppliers could have stopped producing..

... there was more to the great depression than a simple run on banks. i wouldnt be supprised if grain was spoiled, etc(like Holodomor(sp)
