Does anyone have any recommendations for 2 player board game or local co-op video games?

I've enjoyed Gloomhaven as a 2 player game and for video games the best one so far has been Overcooked.

It really depends on what games the two of you like.

Divinity Original Sin 1 & 2 are amazing for co-op, they are story driven tactical RPGs. (Local co-op)

These are not local co-op but still posting them for others. You can play DarkSouls in co-op, taking turns being summoned into the others world. Dying Light goes on sale pretty cheap all the time and you can co-op trough almost all of it. Risk of Rain 1&2 (Risk of Rain 1 has local co-op if I remember right) Orcs Must Die 2 was a fun co-op tower defense from several years ago.

Also the current indie Nordic hit is Valheim a game that is much better together than alone.

Things I ay a fuckton of with my wife:

Root ~ Asymmetric war game. Cats build, birds fight, mice are commies, raccoon does d&d

Dominion ~ deck building game. Build economy buy all the land

7 wonders duel ~ 2 player tech tree civilization game

Gloomhaven ~ d&d ish dungeon crawler with massive campaign and class unlocks. Card combat system.

Gloom ~ make old timer family's die shitty deaths. Lowest score wins. Card game.

Unmatched `` random pop culture shit card battling with miniatures . Ex/ velociraptors vs Sherlock Holmes. Re skin and rebalance of starwars epic duels which was trash

We really liked playing Root!

I can't keep up with my husband when it comes to Dominion though, he gets bored.

I'll have to check out Gloom and Unmatched!

I'm not sure if you'd like it, but Carcassonne was one we liked. It gets old kind of fast, but it's light and nice to play every once in a while.

Carcassonne if fucking vicious. Big fan. I'm terrible at it. Only played 2 games wife is 2~0. Being able to fully steal things on the brink of development is great gameplay.

Halo is now an oldie but still lots of fun. You can buy them for pretty cheap, too.

Like local as in same keyboard or as in LAN?

I thought Wasteland 3 was dope as single player. Been trying to get my friend to play it co-op with me.

And Magic, although that's a card game not a board game.

I'll look into wasteland 3!

We've dabbled in magic too. Have you seen the battle decks that card kingdom has to offer?

They're pretty fun for a quick game.

I have not checked out battle decks. With my friends, I tend to draft, since they don't have cards. At a store, I'd play a competitive format. You can do a 2 player Winston draft, if you dont' have a full group.

There's a fun one I've seen others play that looks good. It's called Keep Talking and No One Explodes. A bomb defusal game where one person has to defuse the bomb while another person explains how using a complicated manual.
