I'm considering buying a new office or gaming chair since I work 100% remote and spend +8 hours a day in a chair. Price isn't much of a concern. Comfort and durability are important, so I'd concern paying the extra cost for genuine leather. Breathability/mesh isn't that important since I'm not a 300lb land whale who's worried about sweating through my clothes indoors.

Any recommendations?

I work and surf in an ancient wooden chair with arms that was salvaged from an old court house. It is made of hardwood (maple, I think) with no padding of any kind. The feet are just feet -- no little wheels on them. I've been using this chair for around 30 years, and its the most comfortable chair I've ever found. I tried a padded office chair with castors on the bottom. Not as comfortable, and it broke after a couple of years. I want back to the wooden chair.

All of which is a preamble to telling you that it is not the style or padding that matters, it is the ergonomics. The height of the seat off the floor, the height of the arms (you should get one with arms), the angle of the back. That's what matters. Personally, I hate a chair with wheels. I hate the way it slides around under me when I'm trying to work. But to each his own.
