I'm considering buying a new office or gaming chair since I work 100% remote and spend +8 hours a day in a chair. Price isn't much of a concern. Comfort and durability are important, so I'd concern paying the extra cost for genuine leather. Breathability/mesh isn't that important since I'm not a 300lb land whale who's worried about sweating through my clothes indoors.

Any recommendations?

https://secretlab.co/ i have one of the chairs from them, really good and durable, and you can buy the chairs based on height.

Steelcase leap

The new one is awesome and looks great but if all you care about is ergonomics and comfort then a used old model leap will be just fine if it’s in good condition.

Yep, came to say this. Having used dozens of chairs Leap v1 Cloth is the most comfortable office chair on the planet.

I buy a new one every 6 months and hate each and every chair. Let us know if you find a good one!

Good gaming chairs start from $300. Search for best gaming chairs from $300.

I work and surf in an ancient wooden chair with arms that was salvaged from an old court house. It is made of hardwood (maple, I think) with no padding of any kind. The feet are just feet -- no little wheels on them. I've been using this chair for around 30 years, and its the most comfortable chair I've ever found. I tried a padded office chair with castors on the bottom. Not as comfortable, and it broke after a couple of years. I want back to the wooden chair.

All of which is a preamble to telling you that it is not the style or padding that matters, it is the ergonomics. The height of the seat off the floor, the height of the arms (you should get one with arms), the angle of the back. That's what matters. Personally, I hate a chair with wheels. I hate the way it slides around under me when I'm trying to work. But to each his own.

I wish they made ones that go up higher. I like drafting chairs but they never are comfortable as those chairs that set closer to the ground

I have two custom workbenchs I made, one for anvil, blade saw etc, and the other for electronics and both those chairs suck ass

Behold, lift chairs, for people too fat to get out of a chair on their own!

My grandma had one and we would always lift it up to find her teeth.

Get a braum leather seat, and mount it on whatever.

DX Racer is expensive but high quality and keeps my back from hurting. I currently work from home and game a lot so I sit for long periods. I do suggest getting a sit/stand desk. It has helped a lot with my lower back.
