I'm in a meeting with people who are insisting that the environmental quality of flights is a very hot topic in the airline business, and oddly a big concern for corporate travelers.

And I'm not believing it for one second.

Apparently, 'green' flights are flights which are direct, and use larger planes, fly longer routes, and use 'sustainable' jet fuel.

Airlines are positioning this concept such that they will charge a bit more for such 'green' flights (manipulating customers' sympathies), while at the same time saving money because of basic efficiency (larger planes, direct routes) and because of government rewards for being 'green'.

As both a corporate and personal traveler, I have never, not once, considered the degree to which the flight I'm taking is 'green'. IMHO airplanes (and considering the entirety of the industry) pollute SO MUCH, that being 'green' really doesn't amount to much. I am much more sensitive to direct flights and cost considerations than anything else.

Do any of you care at all about how 'green' your flights are?

I don’t like being at the immediate mercy of so many people for my travel. I avoid flying.

I am sick of all the virtue signaling shit though about how “green” a company is.

I was picking up Chipotle the other day, ordered off of their app. There was a problem with the order not showing up in their system, so the girl at the counter asked me to pull up the details so they could just quickly remake the order.

I literally could not find the details on the order screen. There was two thumb scrolls’ worth of info about how much the purchase was “saving the planet,” but no visible way to review the specifics of the product ordered.
