The only gains that matter are strong white families. Unless your "meeting" is just a jobs workshop for whites then there is nothing else you can accomplish.

You can get arrested for literally nothing. They have quite the problem getting fake charges to stick as we saw with the capital protest.
Much like the nigerian spammers glowies are pretty obvious so as to only entrap really stupid people. If you were smart enough to know Charlottesville and the capital protests were going to be traps, then you should be safe.
The important question is "what is the group I'm joining trying to accomplish" you're going to have far more luck meeting with like minded people and not getting gay op'd if your group is fighting for gun rights or to deport illegals then if it's to install a national socialist ethnostate.
My proposal is and always has been to meet just for socialization first, the first meeting might be over some food or leisure activities, with no political content whatsoever, then the group might talk about political subjects at the next meeting, but never anything law enforcement would recognize as being illegal.
I'm alone and isolated, so I'd like to reach out to others in that situation.
