NASA in the moon landing era was a research project for ICBMs. They figured that out so it wasn't needed anymore. Then it just became a cash cow for senators when building the shuttle, but after that scam fell apart (literally, on re-entry) it's lost all purpose other than propaganda. It's cheaper to film some arid wasteland than to actually go to Mars, so if their only purpose is to push global warming theory and brave sheboon scientists why bother doing the real work?
