Thank you for that information. I regularly use Waterfox Classic and I've tried disabling every security extension I use and also tried enabling a custom user agent and identifying as different browsers and I still have not been able to get that download button to function at all for me or even get vid8 videos to play in expando in posts. I sometimes use Brave and I think it worked fine on there last I checked and it is just in Waterfox where I have that issue. I only do the steps I noted for the OP above if I am copying the link someone posts to quickly mirror it on Catbox when I don't feel like loading the vid8 page to then right-click>Save video as/Copy video location (I then store the catbox link in a file and in the file name when I save it for future reference and linking to it). It not working for me isn't an issue for me as I do not have much of a need or use for the download button due to how I usually save and backup videos. Perhaps there is an about:config setting I have changed that is interfering with it functioning, but I can't think which would have this effect. I'll check into my cross-site cookies settings to see if that could explain the videos playing fine when on the vid8 page, but not in the expando on poal. I'll try to do a completely clean installation in the future to see if I can slowly bring over changes to narrow down and find what exactly is causing it for me. (Also, I did notice when I re-enabled all of the extensions that Privacy Badger does say there is a cdn.jsdelivr.net tracker it blocked, though I don't know if it is a false detection or how jsdelivr is used and integrated. Just noting it.)
