Did any of you choose to be single, especially going into your forties? Do you regret that choice? I'm facing a situation where a woman wants me to commit hard but I'm not sure I can give up the freedom.

but I'm not sure I can give up the freedom.

Being "free" in your 20s is a blessing. Plenty of women, plenty of time, no strings etc.

Being "free" in your middle age is probably going to mean being married to your job or being very bored

Being "free" in old age is going to mean being very lonely and vulnerable.

Plan ahead. You're not a nigger. Wanting to preserve your "freedom" to fuck around by never settling down is like spending your paycheck on payday and regretting it the rest of the month.

There's also the question of duty: Your ancestors sacrificed everything to put you where you are now. What are you going to spend their sacrifice on? I'm not saying the answer has to be raising a family, but if you just want to spend it on yourself then that's pretty selfish.

My ancestors are dead, if my lineage ends with me they will never know anyway.
